My card was declined — what happens to my QRs?

A failed renewal pauses your QRs and starts a 3-day grace window. Update your card from the Billing page or click "Retry charge now" on the banner.

When our payment processor fails to charge your saved card on a renewal, three things happen. (1) Your QR codes pause — scans show a "code is paused" message. (2) A red banner appears on every dashboard page. (3) We send a payment-failed email to your billing address.

For three days after the failure, our cron retries the charge once a day. If any retry succeeds, your QRs unpause automatically and the banner disappears. If all retries fail, on day 4 your subscription is canceled and the workspace is deactivated — all QRs stop redirecting and show "this QR code is paused" to scanners. Your data is preserved; resubscribe anytime to reactivate scanning.

You can short-circuit the wait. From the banner, click "Retry charge now" — we charge the saved token immediately. Or click "Update payment" to open the Billing page, then upgrade to the same plan — that takes you through the hosted payment page so you can switch cards.

Once a payment lands, everything resumes: status flips to active, the next renewal is scheduled 30 days out, and any system-paused QRs go back to active. QRs you paused yourself stay paused.
